“Deep calls to deep at the roar of your waterfalls; all your breakers and your waves have gone over me.” (Psalms 42:7 ESV)
Ok, so a lot of us is not in the church building because of Covid19. As a matter of fact, most of us have to sit at a computer Sunday after Sunday watching the message our Pastor has prepared for us. Some of us may get to hear a popular praise and worship song, pay our tithes, and even say hello to our brothers and sisters on social media. All in an effort to fellowship and maintain our relationships from a distance.
However, there is one relationship that ultimately needs more attention than that of our brothers and sisters, and that is our relationship with the Father. God in his wisdom and infinite knowledge didn’t allow all of this for us to merely focus on our fellowship and Sunday’s social media services. He allowed it so we can cultivate a personal relationship with Him.
Our King is calling us to come higher; to a deeper place of intimacy with Him.
I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately, and the more I think about it, it’s the more these two phrases echo in my ear. “Well done good and faithful servant, (Matthew 25:23) and depart from me I never knew you (Matthew 7:23).” Have you ever asked yourself the question, why would Jesus say He don’t know me? isn’t He the one who created me?
Look at it this way, wouldn’t your father or mother desire a relationship with the child they help to bring into this world. The child they constantly protect, and provide for. It’s the same way God desire a relationship with us. Intimacy He can only have in a one and one relationship with his creation. And the only way we can achieve this is to seek His face. Not for anything, but just to know Him as our Lord and Savior. Simply put, only a personal relationship with Jesus will get you into the well-done category because you knew Him, and obeyed His Word.
So, today I urge you to take this quarantine and seek Gods face. Get to know the God you serve because “they that know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.” (Daniel 11:32)
King Jesus is calling us to come higher; to a deeper place of intimacy with Him. PLEASE DON’T IGNORE THE CALL.
